PODCAST FAQ
-
What is a podcast?
A podcast is a way to communicate with an audience through an audio medium, and can be packaged as a daily, weekly, or a limited series across any genre or subject matter interest.
Podcasts can be used as a vehicle for news, information, storytelling, or gaining a different presence for your brand, and more. They’ve become a popular medium to communicate your message to an audience due to their accessible nature.
-
How do I get started?
This is probably one of the questions I’ve been asked the most. If you want to make a podcast, chances are you have a million ideas and you’re struggling to hone it down into just one. It can be difficult at that point to make out the forest for the trees. That’s where we come in and help to identify the most impactful way to execute your strongest idea, while weaving in other aspects from your vision board, including effective making sure your brand is woven in seamlessly without getting in the way of great storytelling.
-
How does the process work?
We love hearing your ideas and it’s great to know what stage of the process you’re at.
Send a message through the ’Contact Us’ form and provide as much information about yourself and your podcast as possible. Or let us know simply that you’re at the starting point. Once we receive your email we can determine whether we set up a consultation session.
-
What kind of podcasts do you make?
We can create any kind of podcast imaginable across any genre — true crime, documentary, conversational, history, science, comedy, lifestyle, arts. Our job is to understand what you want and tailor a unique approach to let your voice, message or story shine through.
-
Can I do part of the process with you and then make the podcast myself?
Absolutely! We embrace people who want to learn and do this on their own. But we can help you clarify the angle, and establish a point of difference for your podcast in the marketplace by creating and defining a unique structure and format that will work for you and your team — and fits with your level of experience. This will enable you to produce your own podcast with your team with confidence.
-
Why should I bring in an expert to help set up my podcast?
Podcasting has become an accessible medium. Because of this, it has grown in popularity. But gaining traction with an audience requires not only a great idea, but an understanding of storytelling, and an ability to communicate your story with an audience.
-
Why does format matter?
Having a solid format and establishing a structure — and style — will allow listeners to follow the story or arc of your podcast. This ensures you gain traction and pique the audience’s interest.
-
Can anyone make a podcast?
With easy to use software and now, AI, podcasting is incredibly accessible. But that doesn’t mean that all podcasts are created equally.
There is an art to navigating an interview and getting to the heart of a story — storytelling technique and application is also an art that requires understanding how to hook an audience — and keep them listening. It’s the reason why you might lose an audience in the first 20 seconds.
-
How many presenters can I have?
There are no rules about the number of presenters you have in a podcast. But understanding why you need more than one is important to identify at the start.
-
Can I be a presenter if I hate the sound of my voice?
It’s a very common thing for people to not like the sound of their own voice.
We can help you overcome your fear of getting behind the mic with grounded techniques that work with your voice and natural cadence. Audio is very intimate and it’s important to understand how to use your voice to invite the listener into the world you’re creating through your podcast.
